Dimitar is the Owner and Tennis Director of Santa Barbara School of Tennis (SBTP) & DIMITAR Tennis Academy (DTA) in Santa Barbara, California. He is a USPTR Professional and has been coaching at the top professional level and working with some of the top ranked national and international junior players for over 25 years.

Before founding of SBTP & DTA, Dimitar was the Head Coach of the Weil Tennis Academy in Ojai, CA for 10 years, Coach at the Maleeva Tennis Academy, Tournament Director for the Bulgarian Tennis Federation and a Management Director for the Academic Tennis Club (Sofia, Bulgaria). He was ranked among the Top Four Juniors in Bulgaria and has been a professional USPTR since 1993.

Dimitar Yazadzhiev won the prestigious HEAD/Penn Racquet Sports Advisory Pro of the Year Award that was started in 2007. Dimitar's name now proudly stands by the year of 2013!

Dimitar graduated from the prestigious Bulgarian National Sports Academy with a Master's degree in Physical Education and Sports Management. He has been coaching and working with some of the top ranked national and international junior players, among them: Grigor Dimitrov - #28 ATP, #1 ITF B18s, 2006 Orange Bowl Boys 16s Singles Champion, 2008 Jr. Wimbledon Champion, and 2008 Jr. US Open Singles Champion; Anna Tatishvili – #50 WTA, #10 ITF; Sesil Karatancheva - Former #35 WTA and French Open Quarter Finalist; Ksenia Milevskaya - Top 200 WTA and 2007 #2 ITF; Nolan Bauer - #1 Southwest Section B14s and Top 30 US B14s, and many more.

Head Tennis Coach – Adult Tennis Activities and Junior Development

Bobby is a USPTA certified tennis professional with over 20 years of teaching experience instructing various ages and levels. Bobby graduated in 1993 from the National Sports Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria and has a Master’s Degree as a tennis coach. Bobby has taught tennis internationally on the red clay in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria from 1993 to 1996, on the east coast in Atlanta, Georgia from 1996 until this year when he joined Santa Barbara School of Tennis. Bobby has been ranked among the top 4 players in Bulgaria during his Junior career U14, U16, and U18.

Bobby’s teaching approach involves instructional drills, private lessons tailoring every tennis lesson to fit each player’s needs, whether it be for match play, building strategy on the player strength, tactics and techniques, overall conditioning, cardio workout, basic fundamentals, ground strokes, serve and volley, or just for pure fun and love of the game!

Assistant Coach – Summer Camp and Junior Development

Ryan played competitively for the Santa Barbara Senior High School team. He was able to maintain a consistent rank in the top 100 in both the 16’s and 18’s age division. During each season Ryan had the privilege to play some of the best High School tennis teams in SoCal such as University High, Corona Del Mar, and Harvard Westlake.

During his junior and senior years at SBHS, Ryan also worked for Nancy Wheeler teaching tennis to young children under the age of 12 for the Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation organization. Playing competitive tennis and coaching is Ryan’s passion and he is very excited to pass his experience to the young upcoming future stars.

Sparring Assistant – Junior Players

Drago is a member of USTA who has an abiding, contagious passion for tennis. He has taken tennis intensives with the academy's founder Dimitar Yazadzhiev. Drago serves as a sparring assistant at the academy and loves to play inspiring rallies with students and junior players, to guide them on drills, and focus on helping them develop specific skills and court tactics. He is always glad to provide assistance to all players, and also enjoys being part of the entertaining aspects of the game at the academy.
